“It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence liberates others.”

Long Hard Month

It’s been a long hard few weeks in June. I’ve been working for We Care America writing grants for the new federal Fatherhood and Healthy Marriage Initiatives for the extra dough it provides. But boy I’m I feeling it. I haven’t written marathon proposals in years. I am grateful for the opportunity I had last month to review some grants for the feds which gave me the inside scoop on what they are looking for in grants. Anyway, so by the end of the month after June 30th, my blog and my life should be back to some kid of normalcy.

On another note, the other day in the car on my way to work I heard Tim McGraw’s latest song, "Live Like You Were Dying". I cried. Ok, so that isn’t anything new since I’m a crier. BUT what a song! You have to hear it, better yet, download and put on your Ipod! I am. It makes you think, what would YOU do if you get news that you were dying! Why do we have to wait for that kind of news anyway?

Let’s love deeper, be kinder, forgive, laugh often, dream alot, start again, reconcile friendships, hug those we love, take more time off, take up a hobby, say " I love you alot"…yeah, we don’t have to wait til we hear we are dying…but we can surely ‘live like we were dying’. Have an awesome Father’s day to all you dad’s out there. But to all remember…live LIKE you were dying. Much love to ya!

I haven’t heard the song yet, but just in case, gotta let you know that: I love you and though we’ve not been in each other’s lives in a long time, you have been someone who made a tremendous impact in my life.
