“It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence liberates others.”

Stirring Up the Gift Within You

April 2008 Vol 1, Issue 1
Dear Elizabeth,
 Hey Sistah! I don’t know about you but there are many things in life that inspire me, one of those “things” is a new prime time show called Eli Stone, a show about a lawyer who was on the fast track and all of a sudden a lemon was sent his way, a brain anyersum that threatens his life. Now the catch of this wonderfully inspiring show is that what Eli thought would be the end of his life as he knew it, actually has turned out to be a blessing. This life threatening condition has helped him live life more fully by appreciating moments, taking time to smell the roses, represent the poor and voiceless and you get my drift.I know a little about that because it happened to me. No I did not get an anyersum but I did have the emotional pain of being a mom who could not do a thing for her son. After the birth of my 26 week preemie son, 8 years and 28 surgeries later, and all the other drama that particular lemon caused has helped me to live life more fully and in essence has helped me live brave.  Sure there are days I don’t feel so blessed but I always rebound.I wish the same for you. I don’t know what you’ve been through, I don’t know what you are going through at this very moment but don’t look at the lemons of your life as the end. Look at them as new beginnings. In time, you’ll see how you can make a message out of your mess. In time, you’ll understand how God doesn’t waste a thing in life and if you let Him work in you during this time, you will give birth to more in the future than you’ve lost in your past. You can count on that!

Live Fully, Live Brave!

What Does It Mean to Live Brave?
  There is a song on this CD called Brave and part of the lyrics read “So long status quo, I think I just let go. You make me want to be brave, The way it always was is no longer good enough
You make me want to be brave
Brave, brave”I love music that moves my heart and this song did just that.  I think it did that because I needed to be reminded to be brave. There are so many things in life that just knocks the wind out of our sail, things that make us want to crawl under a rock and die. Many of those things are past failures, bad decisions, wrong choices, you know…life.

Living Brave is about getting up every morning knowing that your past is not nearly as important as what is in your future.  How do you know you are living brave?

* Every time you face a new day with hope instead of pessimism - you live brave;

* Every time you try again after what we had hoped to happen didn’t - you live brave;

* Every time you risk getting hurt by letting someone new in your life after a friend, significant other or spouse walks out on you - you live brave;

* Every time you dare to dance after a stumble - you live brave;

* Every time you believe God’s voice amidst all the other voices - you live brave;

* Every time you don’t settle for good enough - you live brave.

My prayer for you and the reason I coach women to rebound is because I want you to love life, give big and live brave.  Do it and you’ll never live with regrets.
